Department of Chemistry
Faculty of Basic Sciences

Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University (SBKWU), established in 2004, stands as Balochistan’s first women’s university, committed to empowering women through quality education and academic excellence. Inaugurated on March 18, 2004, the university quickly launched its Master’s degree programs by May of the same year, with Chemistry being among the pioneering disciplines. Recognizing the growing importance of the field, the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry program was introduced in 2005, followed by the initiation of the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Chemistry in 2009. To further advance research and innovation, the Department of Chemistry expanded its academic offerings by launching the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in 2016.
The Department of Chemistry takes pride in its highly experienced administrative team and a distinguished faculty comprising Ph.D. holders dedicated to academic excellence, cutting-edge research, and the professional development of students. With a strong commitment to fostering innovation and scientific inquiry, the department continues to shape the future of chemistry education in the region
