Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behavior. It explores how individuals think, feel, and act, both individually and in social contexts. As a diverse field, psychology spans various sub-disciplines, each with its own focus, but all aim to understand the underlying mechanisms that influence human experience and behavior. The Department of Psychology was established in 2013 with two interns and two visiting faculty. 18 students were enrolled in the Master program in 2013. While currently it has six permanent faculty members. Four faculty members have done M.Phil., and two faculty members are enrolled in Ph.D. programs at national universities.
Later on, a BS program was launched in 2015 in the department of psychology. Now the running program in that department is BS Psychology. The motto of the faculty is to provide high-quality education to students with the assistance of well-qualified, dedicated, and highly motivated faculty members.The Department of Psychology was established in 2013 with two interns and two visiting faculty. 18 students were enrolled in the Master program in 2013. Our mission is to provide students with a comprehensive education in the field of psychology, offering programs that cover a wide array of topics, including cognitive, social, clinical, and developmental psychology. With a strong emphasis on both theory and practical application, the department prepares graduates for careers in clinical practice, research, education, and beyond.
This department is not only for giving knowledge related to psychology but also for giving them practical exposure through research projects, visiting hospitals, and internship opportunities. Psychology is one of the most existing and rapidly advancing disciplines serving humanity in almost all areas of life. This department provides students with a high-quality education that is rigorous in the classroom and beyond. We also strive to empower students with knowledge along with the social and ethical values for their application and global issues to alleviate human suffering. The department’s commitment to research excellence has led to numerous groundbreaking studies across various psychological disciplines. Faculty members and students are actively involved in research that addresses pressing issues such as mental health, social behavior, and cognitive processes. This research not only contributes to the academic community but also directly impacts the well-being of individuals and communities.

To educate, counsel and inspire our students with passion and knowledge through which they can independent and become self-motivated learners, healthy citizens, leaders and the person who can bring positive change in environment.
